Mr. Perfectionist – that is of course Aamir Khan – wants to
reach to the common people of India and help them rebuild their lives and for
that there is a new TV show called Satyamev Jayate telecast on Star Plus and DD International.
Aamir Khan has said many times that he was planning to get
into TV media like many Mega stars before him did. Now, after long time Aamir
Khan had to decide about which format and concept should be his first new
experience on the small screen. Check out what he said when he was asked in
this issue: “I was sure that if I
would do something on television then it has to be different… it has to be
something that will connect with the audience”.
Eventually Satyamev
Jayate is a talk show featuring Aamir Khan, in a brief conversation with the
common man of India. The central idea of the show is to interpret to its
viewers, the social issues faced by the general public.
"the truth about all of us". He is visiting the
most distinct corners of India, meeting people in their ordinary life and
routine where he thinks some great truth lies: "Satyamev Jayate is a window.
Open it. Look out, and you might find you're looking in”. The Motto of the show
is not to be afraid of looking the truth in the eye and stop keeping our heads
in the sand while many injustices surround us – wherever we are – choosing to
ignore them.
On the first episode Aamir talks about the killing of unborn
girls, or female foeticide, an alarming and frightening reality. It involves
the collusion of families, doctors and a social structure that encourages the
desire for a boy child – at any cost. The result has been the death of over 3
crore unborn girls since Independence and a generation of young men, many
amongst whom will find it very tough to meet a life partner.
